I am an Italian national who has been living in England for 20 years, sixteen of which have been spent in education. I have always had a passion for languages, which I chose to study at University and Masters level. I graduated from Venice Language University with honours in English and Spanish, and learnt French at university alongside my main two languages. As part of my degree, I also studied History, which is another passion of mine and a subject I have helped with in my current school. I travel both as part of my job as well as for pleasure. In my free time, I enjoy reading, exercising and walking the dog in the Oxfordshire countryside. In my job I have covered the position of Housemistress for almost 10 years now.
I have been teaching Spanish and French for sixteen years. I currently teach Spanish at KS3, KS4 and KS5, and I teach French at KS3 and KS4. I also run one-to-one classes of Italians for pupils who are interested in acquiring a GCSE qualification in the subject.
I have a very pragmatic and logical approach to language teaching, and I believe that the needs of each individual have to be met in order to ensure success. My teaching usually starts with a focus on vocabulary, which is then widened by gently introducing grammar and thus empowering learners to express themselves more freely. At GCSE and A Level, a focus on exam techniques is added, together with strategies for a successful revision.
