My name is Elizabeth and I am currently studying Medical Science at Oxford Brookes. I enjoy my degree because it allows me to explore new areas of biology and chemistry that were not introduced at A-level and to understand in-depth the functions of the human body.
In the past, I have struggled under the pressure of examinations finding them such a high-stress environment. However, during my time at university I have found ways to cope with the stress and use it to my advantage. I would be ever so happy to pass on my secrets to my students!
In my spare time, I am a huge bookworm (I love non-fiction science books!) and I am an avid macrame-er, one of the hobbies I discovered during lockdown.
I have had a few months experiencing of tutoring, having regular sessions as a qualified tutor for schools.
My lessons will be structured by first doing a session where I get the student to complete a few questions so that I can understand where their weaknesses lie. Then we will work through the topic beginning from the basics and working our way up until they become confident.
Rather than my sessions being straight from PowerPoints, I like to take more of an interactive approach using diagrams and videos. I ensure that everything I teach will be inline with exam boards and syllabi, and I am happy to help with any homework from school.
