I am an enthusiastic, dedicated and experienced primary school teacher with 13 years teaching experience, teaching children from Year One to Year Six (ages 5-11).

Tutoring Experience

I currently teach Year 6 and have expertise in preparing children for their end of KS2 SATS assessments and transition to secondary school.
I have teaching experience in every year group im KS1 and KS2, however the majority of my experience is teaching Year 3,4,5 and 6 children (ages 7-11).

My subject strengths are maths and English. I have attended various training courses in both subjects including'Read Write Inc phonics', 'Inspiring a love of reading and writing' and 'Mastery maths'. I also have experience leading Mathematics as a subject leader across a school and have experience moderating writing and Mathematics.

I have previous successful experience tutoring a Year 5 girl Mathematics to support her learning in class as well as to prepare her for end of KS2 SATS. I greatly enjoyed our sessions together as working 1-1, I was able to provide the help and encouragement she needed to the best of my ability. It was wonderful to watch her confidence grow and her learning attitude towards maths completely transform. Both her parents and class teacher were pleased with her progress.
I have also tutored a Year 3 girl Maths, a Year 4 boy English and a Year 3 boy English.

I have an up to date DBS certificate.

Tutoring Approach

I have a strong understanding of the different ways children learn and have a talent for making learning fun and accessible to all children. I find nothing more rewarding than supporting children in achieving their potential and witnessing their joy when they do so. I have an engaging personality and build excellent relationships with the children in my care. I use positive praise and give effective feedback brilliantly and also use a range of visual and practical resources to support learning.
