Hello there! I'm currently pursuing a DPhil in Chemical Biology at the University of Oxford. I completed my undergraduate studies in Medicinal Chemistry at the University of Leeds in 2018, where I earned a first-class honors degree and was recognized as the top-performing third-year student.
Additionally, I recently graduated with an MRes in Drug Discovery and Development from Imperial College London, achieving a distinction grade of 80%. With this academic background, I have gained valuable insights and strategies for achieving top marks that I'd be happy to share.
Apart from my academic pursuits, I have a strong interest in sports. One of my significant accomplishments was qualifying for the Commonwealth trials in swimming. I believe my academic and athletic experiences can provide unique perspectives and support for your learning journey.
Throughout my academic journey, I've had the privilege of working with numerous students as both a tutor and a teaching assistant. These experiences have equipped me with a deep understanding of various teaching methodologies and the ability to adapt to the unique learning styles of my tutees.
In addition to my previous roles, I've taken on teaching assistant positions for A-level and GCSE courses, where I've assisted students in mastering challenging subjects and preparing for important exams. These roles have allowed me to gain insights into the specific challenges that students face at different levels of their education.
Furthermore, I've been actively engaged in tutoring during the COVID-19 lockdowns, where I provided invaluable support to my sister in Biology, Chemistry, and Mathematics. This experience reinforced my passion for teaching and highlighted the importance of personalized instruction, especially in times of remote learning.
My diverse teaching experiences, combined with my academic background, have honed my ability to explain complex concepts clearly and help students build strong foundations in their subjects. I'm enthusiastic about sharing my knowledge and skills to empower students to achieve their academic goals.
I firmly believe that every individual has their own distinct way of learning, which is why I'm dedicated to tailoring each tutoring session to meet the specific needs of the student. Recognizing that effective teaching begins with understanding a student's unique strengths and weaknesses, I make it a priority to identify these areas early on. By doing so, I can create a customized learning plan that addresses the specific challenges a student faces while building on their strengths.
My approach to tutoring is centered on creating a supportive and friendly learning environment. I am genuinely committed to making the learning process enjoyable and less intimidating, particularly when it comes to subjects like Sciences and Mathematics. My aim is for you to not only excel in these subjects but also to develop a genuine appreciation for them. So, by the end of our sessions, I hope you'll find the topics engaging and the learning experience enjoyable.
