Being in my fourth year of studying medicine, my scientific knowledge is always growing and expanding. As well as this, I have tutored over 1200 lessons in Biology, Chemistry, Maths and French since the beginning of last year, leaving my knowledge of the subjects I teach at a very high standard. Furthermore, my studies have provided me with hours of communication skills refinement. This, coupled with my experience of teaching allows me to explain difficult concepts effectively and to clear up any confusion in a patient and understanding manner. Being a tutor is extremely rewarding. I can remember how stressful exams at school were and I'd love to be able to ease that stress as well as improving understanding and thus achieving better grades to give better future prospects.
I have now tutored over 1200 lessons over the last year and a half in biology, chemistry, French and maths. All of my tutoring has been done online, meaning that I am extremely experienced in communicating through the online platform. As well as this, I have taught students from the UK and across the world, with locations including the UAE, Hong Kong, Monaco, The Bahamas and Spain, with ages ranging from six years old to over fifty years old.
I will use the exam board specifications to know exactly what needs to be learned at each level so that all of the information given is completely relevant and necessary. Sessions will be structured by me first teaching through explaining concepts using both words and drawings, allowing for questions and interjections throughout if something isn't fully understood. After this, I will pose some questions that I have prepared and allow the student to answer them since exam-style questions were a great help to me when I was studying for my GCSE and A Level exams as they give an idea of what the level of understanding is. I will then mark them and detail how they can be improved upon or explain concepts again if necessary. I believe in this method of teaching as it allows the student to try out their new knowledge and solidify understanding through actively thinking through questions then learning from their mistakes.
