Hi, I'm Emma and I am a French and Italian student at the University of Cambridge. I just got back from living in France for my year abroad, teaching English to primary school students.
I grew up and went to school in France until the age of 9 so have been speaking French for a long time. I love teaching the language, whether it is for educational or conversational purposes.
I also am very passionate about music, having played the clarinet for over 12 years.
Having acheived A*s in 3 language GCSEs (French, German and Latin), my French A-Level, as well as Maths & Further Maths A-Levels, I am well-equipped to help with exam preparation, as well as specific help on certain topics.
I volunteered for a few months in my last year of sixth form at my old primary school, helping children mainly in their Music class.
I worked as an English teacher in a French primary school for 6 months, with children aged 3-10 years old.
I understand that everyone works in a different way so I am open and flexible to how the tutee prefers to learn, as well as being ready to prepare my own ideas for lessons. For GCSE/A Level French, I will work closely with the current curriculum, ensuring the tutee is exposed to all the vocabulary and grammar necessary. I look to work on several skills in each lesson, e.g. focusing on translating and listening, or focusing on speaking practice and vocabulary.
