By the summer of 2023, our 16 year old daughter, Emily, was really struggling with Spanish and was worried for her GCSE grade the following year. Enrique was a fantastic tutor who helped me to achieve over my predicted marks in my Spanish A level course. He is particularly good at knowing when I don’t understand a concept and he will change the way we learn it until I am happy and he is happy that I understand. Enrique is a fantastic teacher. Our son has found Spanish challenging, being more science minded. He was very worried/even reluctant about having individual Spanish Lessons. However, from the first lesson it was clear that Enrique's style is one of being non judgemental, calm and encouraging. When I asked our son what he thought of his lessons he described Enrique as positive, kind and 'of great help' followed by 'there is nothing negative to say'! Enrique has been teaching my grandson since the beginning of this year and it's going really well. He speaks very good English, which was a necessity, and his knowledge the way our language works is also good, which is necessary for my grandson as he has only basic understanding of grammar.

After the summer lockdown my 14 year old son was struggling in GCSE Spanish. We found Enrique through FirstTutors and my son has been tutored by him for four months now. Initially my son was very sceptical of having a tutor but he really clicked with Enrique and has made great progress moving from a 4 in writing to an 8, a 5 in reading to a 7 and a 5 in speaking to 6. It’s just his listening we need to work on now (although I’d say that listening is something he struggles with in all subjects as well as at home!). I really recommend Enrique and have no doubt my son will continue to improve under his tuition.

I had been trying to learn Spanish on my own for the past couple of years but realised that if I was serious about learning conversational Spanish then I needed to speak Spanish with someone on a regular basis. I couldn't find a tutor in my local area and so even though I have a phobia of speaking on the phone, I decided on lessons by Skype. I chose Enrique because of the number of excellent reviews and his professional profile. I have had 10 lessons now and I was, and still am, very nervous before each one, but Enrique is calm, friendly and reassuring. He asked me what I wanted to learn Spanish for and I told him I wanted to be able to speak more easily with people we meet in the Spanish town we visit every year. The lessons are fun and the subjects interesting, covering topics you might find yourself discussing with friends … exactly what I wanted. And to my surprise, he seems to be able to understand my garbled attempts at conversation which has given me a bit more confidence, as before, I was afraid to speak for fear of sounding foolish and not being understood. Enrique is My son is 14 and high a high IQ but said he feels like he has learned nothing since he started. I have listened in to the first lesson on is sounds fine but our son feels like Enrique is heavily sighing all the time and he feels like the tutor does not like him. My son started a maths and English tutor at the same time and is loving both of these tutors. I feel so bad writing this but maby it is just a one off.

I could not recommend him enough as a teacher!! 100 marks out of 10!!!!

Enrique provides Spanish lessons online. At first I was skeptical about doing lessons over the internet as opposed to face to face, but now I think the format works very well. Lessons are over Skype using a shared online document that is used, in which resources are placed and work is set out, all of which can be edited by myself or Enrique. After an introductory lesson in which Enrique asked me what I would like to learn and then checked my Spanish, we have been working through a program trying to improve my day to day Spanish. I travel to Spain about four or five times a year and am keen to get better at using Spanish. I feel Enrique is helping me to achieve this.

Helpful, friendly and explains anything that you do not understand, which makes it so clear to learning a language. would recommend enrique to anyone.

I highly recommend Enrique as a Spanish tutor. My son started learning Spanish from scratch with Enrique without the benefit of supplementary instruction in school and my son has made tremendous progress in the language as a result. I'm sure it was very tedious for Enrique to teach at such a basic level at first but he was very patient and encouraging along the way. As my son has progressed Enrique is adapting accordingly so my son is getting one-on-one instruction tailored to his specific needs and abilities. I was rather anxious about trying Spanish lessons via Skype, however, I found Enrique to be friendly and patient. He is punctual and reliable. He adapts the lesson to your individual needs and develops a handy resource which you can refer to whenever you want. I would definitely recommend him to others.

Enrique is an ideal tutor for online lessons. He is extremely patient and ready to respond to individual needs. I work on the basis of completing exercises that he sends to me and correcting them in class. We also have conversations (very hesitant on my part) on any topic that seems of interest. He always speaks Spanish unless I am unable to understand, and it is a great advantage to have a native speaker. I have had classes for a year and feel much more confident in the knowledge of the language that I have gained.

Enrique is a great tutor. He is very patient and explains things well. I like the use of a shared document which we add too each lesson and can use to refer back too and that he sets small homework tasks to ensure you keep learning in between lessons.

I loved my sessions with Enrique. He always made me feel at ease, no judgement, especially when I couldn't remember my words or got tongue tied. As a busy mum of 2, he was very sympathetic when sessions had to be cancelled at short notice due to childrens illness. I had to stop due to changes in my schedule, but will, most definitely will go back to him when the time is right.

Highly recommend Enrique! The lessons are well structured and he gives me homework to complete which he marks and sends back.
