Private Maths and English Tuition in Bridgend

I'm Erin an enthusiastic Philosophy graduate, who has a passion for helping all students reach their own personal goals. I aim to create an inclusive environment in which students can flourish and reach their potential. Outside of tutoring I enjoy baking, spending time with family and friends, as well as going to see musicals.

It’s important to me to take time to get to know each student as an individual, and tailor the lessons around their interests where possible. I am a strong believer that if you enjoy the subject, and get on with the tutor, you are more likely to be motivated to reach your goals. Ensuring the student has confidence is another goal I set myself when tutoring, so that when they are in an exam situation they feel able to tackle the questions. I love working alongside families to instil this confidence in students through lots of praise and practice.

Tutoring Experience

I have been tutoring online for 2 years, completing over 200 lessons in Maths, English and Philosophy with great reviews.

Tutoring Approach

During the first meeting, I aim to discuss the specifics of what the student is looking to get out of the sessions so that I'm able to plan lessons accordingly. It is really important to me to strive to meet a student's personal goals and overall build their confidence in the subject.

Every lesson is going to be different depending on the way that the individual learns, and I’m keen to take time in order to fully understand their learning style. I enjoy preparing lessons which are full of content and always ensure a student isn’t leaving a session more confused than they were beforehand. There is nothing worse than asking for help (which I know in itself can be difficult), and ending up understanding it less than you did before. I want to create an environment which students feel able to ask me questions, and express when they don't understand.

Whether it’s quick before the exam revision you’re looking for, or a more slow progression through challenging topic areas, or just someone to give you or your child a confidence boost, I’m excited to create lessons to help you achieve your goals.

Overall, my lessons can put a lot of emphasis on exam question practice if that's what you're looking for, but I'll always be happy to adapt the lesson to suit the student as I understand that not every student learns in the same way.
