I am a young professional working in London, seeking to partake in additional tutoring work. I graduated from the University of Cambridge in 2020 with a first class degree in Natural Sciences, specializing in Pharmacology in my third year. Since then I have been working as a consultant in the life sciences space.
From 2016 to 2017 I spent a year working as a teaching assistant at a primary school in central London. In this role I worked with Year 5 students across a range of subjects (Science, Maths, English, Spanish etc.,) which honed my skills in terms of working with students and helping them to get to grips with new subject matter. In addition, I have conducted in-depth tutoring for Chemistry A-level. As a consultant, on a daily basis I have to work to explain complex concepts to clients in a simple and digestible way. This will help me to support students with getting to grips with Biology, Chemistry and Maths.
I have an informal but rigorous teaching style. With my students we go deep into the subject matter, ensuring that all key details and concepts are understood, but also making sure that we zoom out and think about the bigger picture to ensure that we can contextualise that information. I like to use a questions-based approach to make sure that my students stay engaged and we can together quickly identify any areas to improve upon.
