I struggled with dyspraxia when I was younger and while doing A-Levels, a wonderful English teacher took the time to sit down with me and guide me through how to write an essay. For the first time, I realised that doing well academically was a skill that could be learned. Structuring my thoughts was a process I could grasp. I went on to get an A in the exam, gain a place at Oxford and get a First Class Honours degree.
Now I really enjoy getting to know students and figuring out, together, how their minds work. We work hard to channel thoughts and ideas, put pen to paper, and achieve high academic results. More importantly though, I want my students gain long term skills in written confidence and expression beyond the time we spend together.
I have over ten years tutoring experience, specialising in essay writing support, Oxbridge applications and interview preparation, and dissertation guidance at Undergraduate and Postgraduate level (History of Art, Art School, English)
Sessions are always fun, interesting and creative, as well as rewarding.
