Hi! My name is Ewan and I am a second year medical student at Lancaster University. My most recent qualifications were A levels in Plymstock school where I achieved AAA respectively. In my spare time, I advocate for a work life balance between studies, work and social life; I am captain of the medical school’s football team which won a national football tournament this year, go to the gym regularly and play the occasional tennis. I also enjoy going out and socialising with friends, and love day trips to the Lake District for hikes!
I have tutored GCSE students for ~2 years at Plymstock School and watch them go from grade 4/5 in science to grades 7/8 in their actual exams
My approach towards tutoring will be dictated by the tutee and how their learning style allows them to excel in their given subject. I will use a multitude of different methods, from starter recall practise questions and basic knowledge quizzes, in order ti identify gaps in knowledge and exam technique and build on that basis. If a student does not know a concept at all/is unaware, I will teach it to them via interactive methods like using my own iPad/notes to make sure that they not only learn a topic, but also understand it to maximise their grade in the actual exam.
