Tutoring Experience

I have one years’ experience of teaching Maths and English at primary level. My students have all enjoyed their lessons whilst improving academically and learning and retaining new knowledge.

Whilst volunteering at my local library I have gained skills and efficiency in helping children towards their end goal or tasks they have been set. I thoroughly enjoyed interacting with children, teaching them and helping them get a greater understanding of the subject. Through approaching tutoring from a student’s perspective I have provided a unique and relatable style of teaching that will help your child progress greatly.

Tutoring Approach

My first session with the student will involve conducting an assessment to see what gaps they may have in their learning. From this initial session I will then focus on the curriculum and aim to build upon the student’s knowledge along whilst ensuring they can successfully remember the content. I ensure that the student will have an enjoyable and fun experience whilst learning with me. A variety of activities will be used to make sure the student does not become bored with any repetitive methods. I provide students with various methods to ensure they recall what they have learnt and tailor the lessons so they are connected and allows the student to get a better grasp on the next subject.

My lessons are well planned and are tailored to effectively ensure the student progresses and understands the subject. Whilst being a student of mine your child will build confidence in their academic abilities and equip them with study skills that will assist them long into the future. Each lesson I am to provide an engaging experience, build knowledge and understanding, and indicate any improvements your child can make. Furthermore, I provide notes from each lesson to help my student’s learning and development along with providing homework to further ensure they understand the subject.
