As a qualified teacher and Cambridge history graduate, I love to help my tutees make excellent progress in their studies and gain confidence in their abilities.
I am currently able to tutor the following academic subjects:
History
English as an additional language (including speaking practice and homework supervision)
In addition, I offer:
Supervised music practice (especially piano, violin and trombone)
University interview preparation.
Having taught in state and private secondary schools, I have extensive experience across KS3, GCSE and A Level. I hold a PGCE in history (KS3-KS5) with Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and I have taught English as a second language (ESL) at all CEFR levels. I currently tutor individuals from across the world in a range of different subjects.
Tutoring requires a careful balance between the student's ambitions and their learning needs, which is why I assess each situation individually. I take the time to get to know what motivates each student, how they like to learn and adapt my style to keep them engaged. It's important to me that every tutoring session is a positive, enjoyable experience and so I work hard to ensure that my students make tangible progress every week, as well as improving their grades in the long-term. My ultimate aim is to help my students enjoy their learning, and to give them the skills and self-confidence to overcome their academic challenges.
