I am an experienced GCSE English teacher (5 years) offering a fun but thorough, individualised learning experience. My ethos is to 'believe and succeed', enabling learners from grades 1-3 to achieve those all important grades of 4-9.
I am an experienced English teacher, having taught in further education for a number of years. I have taught ESOL and English Language GCSE. My degree is in English Literature.
I see myself as someone who will support learning in order to develop the learner's understanding, enabling them to fulfil their potential. Lessons are structured and set at a pace to suit the learner, building their confidence and preparing them to be independent, self-regulated learners. I believe in active learning, where the learner is actively involved in their own learning and not just a passive recipient. I use carefully designed individualised learning strategies to ensure learner engagement. I give constructive feedback to guide the next learning steps and understand how to use assessment to support student learning.
