I am a native Chinese speaker and an experienced language teacher having taught for over thirteen years. I have a bachelor's degree in English education and a master's degree in English language and literature. I love teaching and my ambition is to help each of my students to reach their full potential in their Mandarin studies.
I am a professional Mandarin Chinese teacher having taught in a number of institutions.
I have a PGCE and QTS from University College London (UCL), as well as master’s and bachelor’s degrees in language education.
Before settling in the UK ten years ago I taught both English and Mandarin Chinese in China at primary, secondary and graduate level for over ten years. Since coming to the UK I have continued teaching Mandarin Chinese to students at a range of London schools.
I love teaching and my ambition is to help each of my students to reach their full potential in their Mandarin studies.
I believe every student can succeed with the right support. My approach is built on:
• Clarity & Confidence – breaking down difficult concepts into manageable steps
• Goal Setting – helping students set SMART targets and tracking progress
• Interactive Learning – visuals, games, real-world tasks, exam-style questions
• Encouragement & Structure – celebrating what students do well, while guiding them gently to go further
For Mandarin Chinese:
• Strong focus on speaking, reading, writing, and listening balance
• Support for exam techniques and cultural appreciation
• Differentiation for beginners, heritage learners, or exam students
For Maths:
• Concept-first approach: algebra, geometry, number sense, word problems
• Exam question practice, model answers, and revision planning
• Ideal for students needing targeted support from grade 4–7 range
