Online Maths and Physics Tutor

Hi! I am a recent Theoretical Physics graduate looking to tutor part time to share my love for Physics and Maths, staying sharp while I look for a PhD position.
In my spare time I play the piano, sing and paint.

I am equipped to teach physics and mathematics (including further mathematics) to all students up to and including A-Level. I am also able to support undergraduates studying Mathematics or Physics degrees by tutoring certain sub-disciplines, but we would need to determine content on a case-by-case basis. Subjects at degree level include but are not limited to calculus, quantum mechanics, relativity, electrodynamics, differential equations and scientific coding in Python.

Tutoring Experience

While new to tutoring, having done a teaching internship and starting as a teaching assistant, I am able to apply various teaching methods. I'm looking to tutor part-time to stay sharp academically and share my excitement for mathematics and physics. Throughout my degree, I used simple and effective communication and created my own resources and tools to aid learning and interactivity.

Tutoring Approach

My teaching approach ensures that students have access to thorough and engaging learning opportunities. I am able to communicate complex ideas with clarity to help students feel comfortable to ask questions and thereby benefit fully from the session. I have guided family members and peers through difficult concepts. Mistakes are an essential step in learning, and so it is important that students are encouraged to have the confidence to try even when unsure, secure in the expectation that corrections will be explained and understanding improved without judgement or embarrassment. This nurtures confidence and a love of learning. Creating a supportive, challenging, and motivating environment where students feel able to ‘play’ with concepts, enables them to develop competence and curiosity and ensures that they get the most out of their time.
