I'm an enthusiastic, patient and experienced English tutor, who would love to help you with your English subjects, whether they are advanced language, literature, or English as a Second Language. I can hone your essay writing skills, or give you practise with your pronunciation. I have an MA in Creative Writing, and a TEFL Certificate, as well as experience as a writer and researcher for academic publishers, including Oxford University Press.

Tutoring Experience

I currently tutor students in the UK and abroad in preparation for both English Language and English Literature GCSEs, A levels, IELTS and entrance examinations. I also teach English as a Second Language to students all over the world, aged from 4 to 70 years old, in one-to-one online classes. Lessons may focus on reading comprehension, creative writing, Business English or pronunciation.

Tutoring Approach

I encourage independent, creative, and critical thinking. I want all my students to engage fully with the text and become confident in their response as a reader. I make our lessons interactive and enjoyable, using a range of activities and games to aid learning. Every student is unique and I tailor my lessons according to their own specific strengths, experiences and interests. I also help students plan and structure their writing tasks, whether they are essays, reports, or presentations. I am committed to creating a happy and secure environment so that every student feels both encouraged and supported during their lessons.
