Hello! I'm Fran. I graduated with a BA in physical natural sciences from the University of Cambridge in 2022, and am currently pursuing a MSc in Science Policy & Communications at UCL. I offer online tutoring for maths and sciences at GCSE, A Level and specialise in Oxbridge admissions for physical and engineering sciences. I'm here to guide and support your academic journey.
I have around 5 years of tutoring experience, both online and in-person. While I've conducted most of my tutoring sessions privately, I also collaborate with several tutoring organisations to connect with students and parents.
The majority of my teaching involves one-to-one sessions, but I've also conducted small-group teaching. Early in my tutoring career, I volunteered with an organisation that pairs university students with sixth-form applicants from disadvantaged backgrounds. Since then, I've taught students of various ages and abilities, ranging from primary school pupils with learning difficulties to university applicants. I've worked with over 50 individual students, mostly on a long-term basis (6 months+), assisting with GCSE and A Level content revision and exam preparation (maths, chemistry, physics). Additionally, I specialise in university admissions preparation, particularly for prestigious institutions. These sessions, usually shorter-term (ranging from a few weeks to a few months), primarily focus on personal statements, admissions assessments (ESAT and PAT), and mock interviews.
I work with students to build up confidence in science and maths subjects at GCSE and A Level. I like to inspire students to take an interest in these subjects and explore beyond the curriculum. I focus on content-learning, revision, exam technique, and tailor each lesson to each student to meet individual needs.
