I have been interested in science and maths since I was a child and I have been lucky enough to follow my interests.
I graduated from Oxford University with an MPhys and physics in 1997. Since then I have worked in Research and Development applying physics, maths and electronics to real world problems for commercial companies.
I'm married with two children.
I started tutoring in 2013 when a colleague asked if I could help her son. I received some very positive feedback from him and his parents and I enjoyed teaching so I decided to continue tutoring on a part time basis.
I'm happy to adapt my tutoring approach to suit the student's needs and see what works best for them. I'm happy to consider any reasonable suggestions, but if we are close to the exams I would suggest that students work on past exam questions.
If the exams are still a few months away my preferred approach is to ask the student which areas of the subject (s)he is having problems with and focus on these areas.
I would be happy to do a one off lesson on a particular subject area if that's preferable to regular lessons.
