Gary is a very responsible tutor. He took on the challenge of developing into a new course - IGCSE 0680 Environmental Management for my daughter. He is well-organized on schedule and teaching contents. He maintains himself readily available on communications tools - email, Skype - handling student's questions as well logistic arrangements for us coming from China. :)

I found Gary towards the end of the summer holidays to give my daughter some help with her Geography A Level NEA. Her school had given them no guidance at all and she was totally lost. Gary was incredibly helpful and went far above and beyond the call of duty - finding time at late notice and always responding to her and my requests out of tutor sessions. I first approached Gary to tutor my elder son back in 2018 however he was fully booked back then. When my younger son needed support for his Geography NEA I found Gary again and luckily he had some capacity to take him on. My son achieved 69 out of 70 for his NEA, which was amazing. Too early to comment on the impact of the teaching that Gary has delivered as only 3 lessons in and no exams done yet but my son is very much enjoying the lessons and finding them useful. Gary communicates really well, replies to any queries super-promptly and his CV /experience should enable his students to maximise their learning and be able to clearly demonstrate their knowledge when the exams come round.

Feeling very lucky to have found Gary for my 17yr old daughter. He was very quick to respond when setting up and my daughter was very upbeat after her first session. Gary has passed over some really fantastic resources (wider reading) including exam papers and exam questions.
We will go over content and often exam questions I’ve completed in my own time during lessons. Gary and I will then go over with an exam paper / essay for me to go home and complete. This way I can both improve my content knowledge and exam practice.
The structure of our sessions is something we’ve gone over and figured out together which has been really useful.

Gary tutored my son online throughout Year 13 which has been invaluable, especially during the lockdown. Gary's style of teaching is professional yet very friendly and patient, so my son felt comfortable asking for clarification of anything that he didn't understand. Gary has provided my son, Guy, with a 1h weekly on line session over the whole of his upper sixth year to help him towards achieving his target geography A grade which he will hopefully attain in August. The support provided has been truly excellent - Gary is clearly a first rate educator and at the leading edge of his subject and the A level exam system. I can wholeheartedly recommend him. Its also worth pointing out that delivering the tuition on line is as effective as face to face tuition and is well suited to today's teenagers learning style.

Gary generously accommodated teaching my daughter during the final weeks leading up to her AS level in Geography.She had become disheartened with the subject at school, in particular having a struggle with the Physical Geography and how it was being taught. Over a handful of sessions Gary not only augmented her grade to an A at AS but more importantly boosted her confidence and interest in the subject. Instead of giving up at AS level, my daughter is now happily taking the subject at A2.

Easy to arrange tutor sessions and is a good professional geography tutor.

So far so good! After only 3 lessons, my son has settled into the online pattern of learning well. It is highly structured, with work (exam questions) being set for review during the next lesson. This is of enormous help to my son who has struggled with exam technique, teaching him to approach the questions in the correct way to maximise marks. In turn, his confidence is growing steadily. We have high hopes going forward…

But with Geography she couldn't answer any of the questions.The gaps in her knowledge were vast, so there was a lot for Gary to do. But he didn't flinch, even when Rosie's confidence sank to such a low ebb each time she realised how much of the Geography syllabus she didn't yet know. So, whatever happens, without Gary's help Rosie would have lacked the confidence and the knowledge to tackle the past papers etc, do the work she needed to do to better prepare herself for the exam. He managed to get all the bases covered and patiently guide my son through a lot of detail, who got a huge amount of value from the session. My daughter has found her skype sessions with Gary incredibly beneficial. She has grown in confidence and her ability to interpret the question in order to present relevant knowledge has increased substantially. She was quite uncertain about tutorials on skype but decided to give it a go when we could not find an A ' level Geography titur within a reasonable distance. In reality skype has worked really well and it has not hindered discussions in any way. I am so glad we decided to skype with Gary rather than going with someone less experienced face to face as his knowledge, experience and teaching methods are excellent. The lessons are proving to be excellent and I am delighted we found you. Our daughter was on the verge of dropping IGCSE geography when we managed to secure Gary as a tutor. During my gap year I applied to Oxford University, I therefore had Gary as a weekly tutor to help me prepare for my interview while I was not in full time education. As Gary and I did not live that close to each other, we decided to have the tutorials over skype. This worked very well. I found Gary very professional and organised. He would always send me articles to read during the week that we could discuss during the tutorials. He is very good at looking at a range of topics, and his knowledge of Geography is far beyond text book, making him an interesting and insightful tutor. Having had Gary tutor me for 6 weeks, I had my interview and was given a place at Oxford. Although I also did my own revision on top of my tutorials, I feel Gary gave me the confidence and experience to discuss Geography interlectually and helped me to look at certain issues with a more dynamic perspective. I would recommend Gary to any student who is interested in Geography!

My 17 year old son has been highly impressed with the standard of tuition he has received from Gary over the past 3 months; each tutorial session has clearly been carefully considered beforehand and tailored to meet my son’s individual needs. The online tuition which Gary is doing via skype is working extremely well. My daughter is doing resits for AS level and ongoing A level work and we have been impressed with how quickly Gary has assessed her needs and provided information to fill the gaps in her knowledge.His subject knowledge is excellent and he has been able to provided resources to test progress. He has given me feedback where appropriate, and my daughter really enjoys working with him. We hope to continue lessons with him for some time to come.

Someone who is enthusiastic about General Studies! My son struggles to understand how questions should be answered in any subject but General Studies has really got him, until Gary's enthusiasm and thoroughness have inspired him.
