Hello! My name is George and I moved to the North East just over 4 years ago now, having received my Masters degree in Chemistry from Cambridge. I am passionate about showing people new ways to think about problems, which is why I wanted to start teaching young people here in the North East and online.
I work at a nuclear power station, but don't worry! I don't glow at all, nor do I look like Homer Simpson. I am very invested in what I do, however, where I take the theoretical techniques I learnt at university and apply them in the real world, to solve real-world engineering problems, with an innovative, fresh approach. This is something I would look to bring to my students' sessions - inject some energy and passion into the subject, such that they don't just learn the stuff: they actually enjoy it as well!
I look forward to meeting you and helping you on your way to success!
I am not a qualified teacher, but I have experience in:
With this vast experience, I am confident that I can help you to achieve your desired grades today!
My first and foremost priority is to inject energy and into the sessions, teaching in a vibrant manner to motivate the students to believe that they can achieve their aims. With energy, passion and a fair bit of challenge, there's no reason that those all important target grades can't be reached (and exceded!).
Learning the course parrot-fashion is not my style, and nor should it be yours! Yes, it will allow you to answer some of the questions, but I don't just want you to do well, when you can do brilliantly!! Hence, I look to teach the underlying principles behind the subject, such that, when faced with an unfamiliar problem, you'll be able to tackle it with confidence and secure those top grades in the process!
What is most important, in any case, is patience. I pride myself on being a patient individual and trying multiple approaches until they understand. This is crucial in making sure the student isn't discouraged, or feel stupid. I am encouraging throughout and reassure them that they will get there in the end. Together, we can get top marks and set up for a bright future!
