I love learning! I am patient, kind and friendly, and have been a professional, full-time tutor for the last 8 years. I inspire others with curiosity and help them to develop a desire to grasp abstract concepts. Coming from a family of teachers; teaching goes back (at least) 4 generations in my family, so tutoring is something that comes naturally. I excelled in school, and would often finish my work early, and find myself helping the other students in my class to understand the content.

I have worked in education for 15 years, in an SEN department with children with dyslexia, ASC, ADHD and dyscalculia, as an academic coach and as a full-time tutor for the last 8 years.
I begin by building rapport with the student, learning about their interests, their feelings about the subject, and what areas they feel confident in, and which they don't, and carrying out assessments where necessary. From there, I focus on the areas we have established there are gaps, to help the student to build a rounded confidence in their subject knowledge, whilst continuing to encourage the student to build their thinking (metacognitive) skills, developing their ability to know where to focus their energies. These are the skills that have helped me to become a very successful student, and which help my students to develop into independent learners with their own intrinsic motivation.
