I am a highly qualified Biology and Science teacher, passionate about supporting students to achieve their goals. With over 13 years of experience in the classroom at a number of leading schools in Scotland, and in various leadership roles, I have an in-depth understanding of the Scottish curriculum and the skills and techniques students need to excel.

Tutoring Experience

Having taught pupils from all backgrounds from Primary 6 to S6, from BGE Science all the way to Advanced Higher Biology, I have the unique ability to adapt and tailor learning to meet the needs of a huge variety of learners.
My dedication to enhancing students’ learning has led me to author a Hodder Gibson Science textbook and take on the role of SQA Marker. I bring valuable insights into exam techniques and assessment standards, giving my students a strong advantage. I set high academic standards while delivering engaging and effective lessons and have a track record of high pupil attainment and enjoyment.

My background as a Leader of Wider Achievement and STEM allows me to make Science accessible and exciting, helping students build confidence in their abilities. My time as Principal Teacher of Pastoral Care and years of professional learning have given me the tools to help pupils overcome barriers to learning such as ASN, neurodiversity, anxiety, exam stress and more. It has also allowed me to support pupils through the UCAS process, prepare for entrance examinations and encourage pupils to realise their strengths and celebrate their successes.
