I am passionate about language learning. I feel that communicating in the language of a country opens up a deeper understanding of local customs and culture. At whatever level, an attempt to converse in the target language demonstrates courtesy and an appreciation of the country. Aside from my passion for languages I enjoy cooking, cycling and spending time with family

Tutoring Experience

I have successfully taught full time in two local secondary schools over the last 28 years. I have taught from primary to advanced level Spanish and Italian and French to GCSE level. I have also worked with adult learners keen to improve their language skills for educational, professional and leisure purposes.

Tutoring Approach

I have a relaxed, friendly and supportive approach to teaching. I believe that it is important to promote confidence through encouragement within a supportive environment. I always aim to cater lessons to the personal requirement of each individual student. I have a structured approach to vocabulary and grammar learning which is crucial for the independent production of the target language.
