I am a driven and passionate individual, who deeply cares about the education of our communities. I believe education begins at home and working with children simply builds on the core foundation of their learning and development. I love working with children and find ways to make learning interactive and fun. This includes adults, we can build a rapport and I am always open to discussions about what would encourage a positive learning approach and experience. I am forthcoming and organised and very open to trying new things that will encourage a deeper understanding of learning.
After completing my PGCE with QTS I went straight into a mainstream school where I have had 4 years experience working as a full time primary school teacher in KS1. This includes working during the very tough lockdown and COVID home learning experience!
I am currently joined with a supply teaching agency, working in various year groups in a wide range of schools meeting a diverse range of staff and pupils.
I have managed classrooms of 30 children, but always enjoy and see more benefit in small group and 1:1 focused learning, so really look forward to working with more individuals.
My approach to teaching is based around the needs of the individual/s. It's important to target any barriers to learning, work to overcome these weaknesses and then focus on developing and progressing to the next level in the learning. If using the national curriculum, we can look at meeting targets and working through all the key things that will take us further. I like to plan accordingly so am more than happy to find an approach that works for whomever I work with.
