Hello!
I'm Halil, a Psychology graduate with a passion for Reading, Langauge and Sports.

I am friendly, enthusiastic, engaging and passionate about the subjects I teach.

I graduated from the University of Reading in 2020, and since then pursued my passion for becoming an Educational Psychologist. I have worked as an SEN tutor and a Primary School Higher Level Teaching Assistant. Outside of my academic interests I regularly play football, and enjoy travelling.

I have availability to tutor throughout the week and also during weekends.

Tutoring Experience

Over the course of my time teaching, I have learnt a huge amount. I view everyday teaching as a way to better myself. With every subject I teach, I consistently evaluate my methods of teaching and I feel there is something I can do to make the lesson more enjoyable and effective for my students.

Tutoring Approach

I have a friendly approach to teaching and understand the importance of individuality and accessibility within teaching. I firmly believe that every student has different approaches towards learning and it is my role as a tutor to structure my sessions to complement those requirements.

I would break down my general approach to content understanding and exam preparation.

I truly believe that the route to education success lies in understanding the subject instead of remembering and memorising answers, and I thoroughly enjoy explaining ideas and concepts within the subjects I teach, with the aim of helping students gain a genuine understanding of what they're learning.

Appropriate exam preparation is vital to turning content understanding into actual results. I feel exam technique isn't emphasised enough throughout our education system, and it helps to be familiar with subject mark schemes and past paper styles, such as ideas and terms that are consistent every year. To help build confidence I aim to integrate exam board past papers into our sessions which will also help students feel comfortable when facing the real exam.
