I am currently a PhD student within the Communications and Signal Processing research group at Imperial College London, working in the area of signal enhancement. In plain speak- I try to come up with cool ways to use mathematics and science to solve real world problems!
I have a strong academic background, having achieved top grades in my masters degree in Electrical and Electronic Engineering, as well as my A-Levels, GCSEs, SAT I and SAT II.
I find tutoring both fun and rewarding, and am keen to share my passion for maths and physics with my students.
I have extensive teaching experience in both the private and volunteer sector. These experiences range from tutoring mathematics in high school, to volunteering at an after school centre during my undergraduate studies, to being a graduate teaching assistant within my university.
Tutoring a wide range of students, has made me realise the importance of adapting my teaching approach to better meet the needs of individual students.
Building rapport with my students is something I consider very important- to determine what they require so that I can try to deliver this. To this end, all my first lessons are offered at discounted rates to see if I would be a good fit.
During lessons, along with covering the underlying theory, I try to instil an enthusiasm for the subject in my students. In doing so I have found that not only does their performance improve, their enjoyment for the subject does as well.
I provide both general tutoring and exam preparation services. The aim of the former is to help students feel more comfortable with the material covered in school. In the latter, the goal is improved performance in tests and examinations, with particular emphasis placed on exam technique.
Long term tutoring, in the form of block bookings, is offered at discounted rates.
