I’ve been a teacher for 8 years deciding to complete my PGCE in Physical Education after gaining a first class degree in Sport & Leisure and Educational Development. Within thus degree the theoretical underpinnings of the sport element was sociology of sport. I’m very passionate about sport and leading a healthy active lifestyle.
As previously mentioned I’ve been in the teaching section for a number of years and I have taught across the GCSE, BTEC and A-Level examination courses for PE. I have also taught A-Level Sociology. I have been a mentor for trainee student teachers as well as tutored many students at both GCSE and A-Level. I am the head of GCSE PE in my school and I have an extensive array of knowledge in both the OCR and AQA courses. My A-Level PE specialism is anatomy and physiology. With Sociology I am very familiar with the AQA syllabus.
When tutoring I always feel it is important for sessions to be interactive with lots of opportunities for discussions, questions, student led activities and exam style practice. I will offer acronyms to remember theory as well as provide you access to a host of past paper questions and mark schemes. I can also support in any of the coursework elements for GCSE and A-Level PE.
