Tutoring Experience

I have taught AQA Psychology and Sociology A level over 10 years at two outstanding colleges. I have also examined for AQA for both subjects (7 years) and this has led to in-depth understanding of exactly what the examiners look for in your responses. I have been graded as an outstanding teacher during observations and achieve the very best grades with my students. I have been head of department for Sociology & Criminology for the past 5 years.

Tutoring Approach

Tutoring, in my opinion, should be a very active process. My students engage in a variety of activities (quizzes, exam questions, essay plans and practical demonstrations) to encourage the deepest level of learning. My aim is to make the sessions fun for students and make revision a desired activity, not a chore. I am willing to adapt my tutoring sessions to the needs of the learner - after all - everyone is different!
