Hi there! I'm a First Class Biology graduate from Imperial College London who gained full marks across several Biology A level exams and is currently pursuing a PhD in Chemical Biology at Oxford University.
I enjoy tap dancing, skydiving and surfing.
-- Extensive experience as a budding scientist in Biology, ranging from a 12 month research placement at The Institute of Cancer Research to multiple summer research placements. Often the youngest person in these rooms!
-- Extensive entrepreneurial experience in taking an idea from concept to market validation and developing problem-solution fit.
--- All of this is relevant because it means that I'm good at finding out how to solve problems, communicate complex ideas, encourage creativity and work with people from diverse walks of life
-- Peer Assisted Learning Mentor, Imperial College London: paid mentoring position; taught undergraduate Biology and study skills to new undergraduates
-- Extensive experience in volunteering to tutor young, adult and mature students.
My teaching style is unique; I tailor every lesson to what the student feels are the most difficult areas in their understanding or where they require help to feel more confident. I believe in gaining a thorough understanding of the concepts and distilling that into answers for which examiners will award top marks. Towards this aim, my teaching style involves creative analogies and storytelling to convey the most complex concepts in an intuitive manner.
Here is a taste: my research interests revolve around enhancing 3D printed liposomes with engineered DNA for logic gate behaviour, with applications to drug delivery. Aka, I use equipment that oozes microscopically packaged drugs; I creatively design DNA gates so that drugs are delivered with fewer side effects.
