Hariharan

Hi, my name's Hariharan but you can call me Hari and I'm currently a Biochemistry student at The University of Bath. Over the last five years, I've discovered many new and different revision methods which I've applied to my own studies to develop my understanding in all my subjects. Through doing this, I achieved strong A Levels which have allowed me to attend one of the best universities in the UK. I'm now at a stage where I want to help share these revision methods with current GCSE and A-Level students to help others improve their confidence, understanding and ultimately, their results in all subjects.

Tutoring Experience

Since primary school, I've been helping teach my sister, who's 5 years younger than me, across all sorts of subjects. Last year, I gained paid tutoring experience for the first time, teaching three students via online calls in both Biology and Mathematics at both GCSE and A-Level. My creative teaching style, alongside my natural supportive nature helped every student feel an improvement in their confidence from lesson to lesson. I used my subject knowledge to effect to showcase a different way of teaching that they may not specifically had at school. This teaching style suited each student well and helped me improve my students' knowledge in every topic.

Tutoring Approach

My teaching revolves around a calm, supportive nature alongside innovative ways to help improve each student's knowledge. I'm a strong believer that every student is totally different from one -another, meaning a teaching style for one student may not work as well with another. At the start, I aim to understand the student well, talking about their opinions on the subject as well as finding out their best methods of learning. For example, some students like listening to an explanation and digesting the information, some may be more visual learners who need examples shown to them and some like to repeat questions in a trial and error mindset, seeing where they've gone wrong and improving on that the following ocassion. After understanding the pupil and their objectives, we can work together to create a designated revision schedule that will help us plan for the best results possible.
