I am a secondary school teacher who loves to teach English and English literature up to GCSE level. I have experience with both EDUQAS and AQA exam boards and mark exam papers for the summer GCSE exams, so am well versed with exam requirements.
I particularly enjoy teaching An Inspector Calls, A Christmas Carol, Macbeth, Romeo & Juliet, poetry anthologies and unseen poetry.
I teach English at KS3 and KS4 and have also prepared both my children for 11+ exams by refining the skills involved in creative writing and English comprehension.
Whether you are looking for tutoring sessions to prepare for exams or looking to improve general English language skills; I am more than happy to help.
I have a friendly but firm teaching style (I also like to think I’m quite funny). I would usually start the first session with some diagnostic tasks in order to ascertain what level tutees are working at, after which we can discuss collaboratively how we can progress. I always like to involve tutees in the process as everyone works differently and I want tutees to be invested in the process.
I am happy to be flexible with timings and we can discuss this further should you wish. If you’re looking for a friendly, approachable and knowledgeable tutor; get in touch!
