In 2021 I graduated from Newcastle University with first class honours in Electrical and Electronic Engineering. After graduating I went to the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst, commissioning as a 2nd Lieutenant into the Royal Electrical and Mechanical Engineers. Maths is fundamental in Engineering and Education and mentorship are fundamental to an army officer. This puts me in a prime position as a tutor.
I was raised in a family of teachers so I’ve always had a great example of how to get the most out of students. This combined with my role as a mentor and leader in engineering has given me all the skills to make a great tutor.
As a Dyslexic I really struggled with conventional learning at school so I developed a lot of my own coping mechanisms. Most importantly I learnt empathy towards people’s differing needs. Learning maths is based on 3 things: understanding the application, making mistakes and repetition. As a tutor my job is to help you develop your own learning techniques and guide you through these 3 steps.
