I am a fully qualified maths teacher with over 30 years experience working in secondary schools across the North West and as a private tutor.
I have a degree in Mathematics from Salford University and a PGCE in secondary education with mathematics and music from University of Birmingham
I have extensive experience teaching mathematics in both KS3 and KS4, preparing students for GCSE examinations.
I am a fully qualified teacher having taught at both KS3 and KS4 across the age and ability range. I also have several years experience in private tutoring for both Key stage 3 and GCSE .
I am hardworking, conscientious and understanding of students who struggle to grasp mathematical concepts. I aim to build confidence and have high expectations of my students. I am also experienced in teaching booster sessions across the age groups and can identify weakness, providing intervention with the correct topics and levels.
As a mother of two boys, I realise how difficult it is to motivate children to complete homework and strive to overcome obstacles within a subject they find difficult. I aim to develop a good relationship with my students and help parent/carers to support their child on the journey to success. I will begin by assessing strengths and weaknesses in the subject using diagnostic methods then work with the student to increase their understanding and confidence,
