Hello
I'm Helen and I am a researcher at University College London.
I have always been interested in science, when I was young I wanted to be an astronaut, then a medical doctor, and I have spent a long time in academia working towards and completing my Ph.D.
--Tutorials for Masters level students (both online and in person)
--Running problem classes for 2nd 3rd and 4th-year physics undergraduates
--"Space school" a 2-week summer programme teaching 14 - 18 years olds about astronomy and rockets
I think flexibility is key to tutoring one-on-one.
It is important to remember what it is like to be brand new to a subject, and with no prior knowledge.
In university situations where knowledge is built upon on a weekly basis, it is very easy to fall behind, so I am a proponent of focusing on the basics.
