Helen teaches our 10 year old son Maths. She has been efficient and established a good rapport with our son.
She is attentive to our sons learning needs and had recignised he had dyslexia. Helen encouraged us to get him assessed privately . Sure, Helen was correct and we were thankful for her noticing this.

Helen is absolutely amazing. We were so worried as parents when our daughter had to leave her private school suddenly at the end of her first year of GCSEs. Our daughter had very low self esteem when she started with Helen. Helen has not only helped Tiana with confidence but even just over a couple of months, Tiana has made huge progress in English. A long road ahead but we have full faith in Helen. If anyone is going to help Tiana independently get through these exams and improve her learning technique as well as understanding it will be Helen. Homeschooling is a very new concept for us, yet Helen has made it feel like an easy transition. As a tutor she is friendly yet disciplined, flexible and very orgsnised. We are all very blessed to have found Helen.

My son is in year 7 and he comes from IB background, where English is taught in a different way than in the UK.
Its just been 8-10 classes, but he himself acknowledges the changes and his progress in this subject. I certainly would refer her to anyone looking for a calm, patient and knowledgable english coach for their child.

Helen was tutoring my 16 yo autistic son with his GCSE English Language - she had been selected for her experience in working with SEN young people. My son had had a generally positive experience with Helen, but unfortunately during their last session, she tore up his work and threw it away in front of him - something which really upset him. This then affected his confidence just before he took his GCSE Eng Lang - Helen also decided to go on holiday during the GCSE period which is far from ideal when tutoring GCSE students. I contacted Helen about this issue and to remind her to send GCSE practice papers as she had promised, but she never did. I am under the impression that Helen had taken on too much work - this is a real shame. Previous feedback would have been positive but I feel unable to do that under these circumstances.

In response, I am sorry that your son felt this way. Having tutored him successfully for 8 months I am surprised at the feedback now, and feel this is out of context. Throwing a piece of work aside was in agreement that we would approach the exam question differently, and this was done with a positive attitude (and outcome). Regarding my holiday, I successfully accommodated 8 GCSE students throughout this period and was away for 1 week at the end of exams. I offered your son a replacement lesson for the one I needed to cancel and also stated that he could call me at any time if he was anxious about his exams. I regularly gave homework and revision papers to your son and you were aware that 9 out of 10 times they were never completed. I feel that he has made a huge improvement at the end of our tuition and I wish him all the best for the future.

Helen's excellent tutoring has raised my dyslexic daughter's English Language GCSE mark by an entire grade. She has been exceptional in raising her comprehension and coaching her for the questions on the paper. Helen is extremely organised, setting and mark-up homework - ususally past papers - between sessions. Most importantly, she is lovely, empathetic and kind and my daughter who hated English looked forward to her tutoring sessions.

Helen has only been tutoring my daughter for a short time. My daughter struggles with maths, she finds it difficult to grasp and remember concepts and was really starting to lose motivation to even try anything to do with maths. But, already after 4 sessions with Helen she is starting to regain her confidence and motivation and is eager to complete her homework set by Helen to show her. Her times table is picking up and she has already mastered 1 or 2 new concepts. Helen is patient and calm with my daughter and takes her time explaining things in all different ways to help to consolidate her learning and tries different methods to help her remember important strategies.
