Hello! I am an Oxford and Courtauld-educated art history & fine art tutor, researcher and artist. I have 10+ years of experience working with students from A level to University level and beyond. My aim is to provide students with the tools and methods with which to reach their full potential. I am a highly committed tutor, and provide a tailored programme of study and personal academic development for all those I work with.

Alongside my tutoring work, I am a published writer and exhibiting artist, and have worked with clients including Manchester University, Biennial Foundation, National Theatre, Unit Editions, Oxford Brookes, Oxford University, AOTFD, New Art Centre, Somerset House and the London Art Fair.

The subjects I can provide tuition in are as follows -

  • History of Art (A level, University level)

  • Fine Art/Art & Design (A level, GCSE, university level and adult learners)

  • English Language and Literature (GCSE)

  • English as a Second Language, ESL (iGCSE)

  • Essay writing and research workshopping for university level and adult learners

  • Maths, Reasoning (Verbal and non-verbal) and English (11+/13+)

Tutoring Experience

With over 10 years of experience as a private tutor and mentor, as well as experience in classroom settings, university entrance preparation and international exchange programs, I feel confident in using my skillset and intuition to make sure my approach is best suited to your particular way of learning and communicating. I have worked as a residential and homeschooling tutor with families across the US, Arab Emirates and Europe, and so also have experience with a wide range of international educational systems.

History of Art:
I have experience taking students through the History of Art A level syllabi for a number of exam boards (both for resits and alongside school work), as well as providing general study and essay writing support at this level. I have a strong track record in helping students achieve the highest grades, and have supported a several students into Oxbridge and Ivy League entry for this and related subjects. This is always ultimately down to the student's effort and engagement, but 1-2-1 work can really unlock potential in ways that classroom work cannot.

Fine Art:
For adult and university level learners I specialise in offering general essay writing, research, portfolio-building and study skills support, and have supervised students through the completion of numerous coursework essays and dissertations, including at Oxbridge and Ivy League universities.
I am a practicing artist and this feeds into my approach to tutoring Fine Art and Art & Design at GCSE, A level and university level. I have worked with galleries, curators and other artists as well as with art schools, and combined with my academic training and experience am able to offer an unusually broad form of support for artists and those working on university or school art coursework. I have supported students in gaining entry to Central Saint Martins, London College of Communications, the Ruskin (Oxford), and the University of Southern California's Roski School of Art and Design.

English Lang/Lit & Essay writing:
I believe it is at GCSE level that the greatest improvements can be made by working with a private tutor in English Language.
In our first 1-2 sessions, I will conduct a diagnostic assessment and design a plan for us to work together towards your goals, with regular reviews for us to ensure you are making progress. I usually suggest a minimum of 6 sessions to start seeing real improvement, and enjoy working with students regularly on a long-term basis, as this is when we will see the best results.

At higher levels, I work primarily online, and will provide detailed comments and feedback on essay drafts as well as coaching in research and writing skills.

Tutoring Approach

I offer a hybrid model for students who want to combine in-person and online work.

I work in a highly personalised way and shape tuition delivery to meet student needs, which is especially important when working online. I have experience designing and running academic mentorship programs, which means my work as an academic and art tutor is informed by a holistic understanding of the different factors affecting educational attainment, confidence, self-regulation and motivation.
