I am a student currently completing my Masters at the University of Nottingham studying Chemical Engineering and I would love to help other students reach their academic potential. My academic development is the fruit of my drive, discipline and optimism and I hope that I am able to influence my pupils of these same values as I tutor.
I have had over 5 years experience teaching including successfully guiding many through the challenge of the 11+, with many success stories. This experience along with other roles within the retail, customer service and hospitality industry, have provided me with a wealth of transferrable skills like Organisation, Leadership and Interpersonal Communication.
My teaching approach is friendly and interactive. I believe that creating a comforting and exciting environment for the pupil is crucial in how they respond to teaching. That being said, I understand that some pupils require different approaches to others, which I am prepared to account for and adjust my teaching techniques accordingly.
I first try to understand the pupil's knowledge and understanding of the subject, then I can understand where the gaps are and fill them in, using questions and past papers where applicable. It's important to me that my pupils feel they have a solid understanding of the subject by the end of each topic.
