I thoroughly enjoy my role as a tutor and try to make learning fun to ensure that I obtain the best outcome from the students I work with. I get a great deal of job satisfaction when I see students progress and their confidence grow. I teach English/Literacy/Maths to students at KS2/3. In addition to this role I have experience of teaching students who have English as their second language. Additionally, I have experience teaching pupils with a special educational need and pupils working at both KS1 and KS2 level. I am an extremely patient tutor and always make sure that I pace my lessons accordingly, providing plenty of resources to bring out the best in a student.
Y6 SATS are a worry for both children and parents alike. I am therefore, able to offer SATS revision lessons to support your child and give them the confidence to enter into their SATS with a positive mindset.
I have over 20 years experience of teaching children Literacy/English/Maths within a School setting as well as teaching children who are still learning at both KS1 and KS2 level. I have experience of teaching whole classes, small groups and one to one. I also have experience of teaching students who have English as their second language.
I believe that in order to support a child's progression you must make learning fun and exciting and this is my approach. I strive to build excellent relations with my students because I believe that this is how I get the best out of them. I have a friendly, outgoing personality however my approach to teaching is a calm, quiet learning style ensuring that I am fully equipped with all the resources I might need for my teaching. To be fully prepared is key to excellent, effective teaching.
