I am a student at Queen Mary University of London, currently studying International Relations. Despite being in the field of humanities right now, I have a strong background in STEM subjects, and I loved the process of learning them. The most important thing of all is I have a strong passion for teaching, stemming from my great explanation skills and strong background in tutoring, with 6 years of experience!
As stated above, I have 6 years of tutoring and mentoring experience. I have been a Piano tutor for younger children for 6 years, which I am confident to highlight on my patience and enthusiasm in teaching. I have been tutoring Maths and Biology for 2 years, with my students securing at least an A in their assessments and exams. In university, I am a mentor for Queen Mary’s PASS Programme that provides support for first year mentees. My mentoring and tutoring experience are spanned across ranges of age, from children below 10 to university students.
My teaching approach is emphasised on teaching content alongside independent studies. Aside from teaching materials in the exam specification, I also ensure my students know how to study independently through designated tutoring materials and transferring studying skills and methods. My past students have highly rated me on my explanation skills of breaking down complex problems into more basic units, allowing the most efficient studying sessions. I believe there is more to explanations and exam questions practise, which is why I also emphasise on the effective self-studying methods that are often neglected by students, but are easily acquired.
