I am a PhD student at University College London, specialising in ecology and biodiversity research. Previous work experience has included research assistant placements at the Zoological Society of London and WWF UK, and fieldwork on leopards in South Africa. I love my subject and I am eager to encourage others to share my enthusiasm and provide additional support when overcoming the challenging areas. Having an excellent tutor has greatly benefited me personally in the past, and so I understand how sometimes a little extra guidance and a confidence boost can go a long way.
Education:
Master of Science (MSci), Zoology, First-class honours
A Levels: Biology (A), Chemistry (A), English Literature (A)
GCSEs: Additional Science (A*), History (A*), Maths (A*), Art and Design (A), Science (A), English Language (A), English Literature (A), Music (A)
I started tutoring in 2014 and have tutored Maths, Science and English up to GCSE level. I have also worked in primary schools, assisting pupils of various ages and levels in science lessons. I enjoy making science both accessible and intellectually stimulating and have had science communication roles within museums and conservation charities.
My aim as a tutor is not only to help a student understand a certain topic, but to get them to a stage where they are confident and at ease with the subject as a whole. Each student is different, so I will tailor lessons to suit individual learning styles so that they benefit fully. Most importantly, I want students to feel comfortable enough to ask questions, discuss topics freely and enjoy learning.
