I genuinely love to learn. I enjoy the moment when understanding dawns and the sense of satisfaction when I feel like I have made a personal breakthrough This can be grasping a concept in a popular science book or simply figuring out why the window in the kitchen was making that noise.
One of the things I enjoy most about tutoring is seeing that same dawning realisation happen for my students and sharing in the satisfaction of progress made.
I have taught science on UK curriculum for 14 years in a range of settings in both the UK and abroad. I specialised in sixth form Physics for most of that time but have always taught GCSE science too. I have experience of all the major UK exam boards both in the UK and internationally. Students I have taught have been able to secure places at prestigious universities including Oxford and Cambridge in the UK and Ivy league universities in the states like Yale and Brown. My most recent work in Kazakhstan helped me to develop skills teaching students studying in a second language.
I tailor my tutoring to your individual needs whether you are wanting to stretch your skills to help secure the best university outcomes or consolidate your knowledge and skills within the scope of the course to ensure a passing grade. As such I will expect to see previous assessments to help me identify areas of strength and possible weaknesses so I can tailor my approach to your needs.
