I am a fully qualified French teacher and have recently moved to the Winchester area.
I have taught French to GCSE level for more than thirty years in a variety of Secondary schools in England. At various points in my career I have been a Head of Department, a GCSE examiner, a County Advisory Teacher and more recently a Teaching Assistant.
My experience and background make me the ideal tutor for any young person wanting to improve their progress in Key Stage 3 French or improve their grades at GCSE.
Learning a language can be fun but I know that it does not always feel like that when you are struggling to understand a difficult topic or get to grips with a new tense. It can often be hard to speak out in front of others in your class. Mistakes are a natural part of learning and they happen because you are trying to make progress. That is why I try to create a relaxed atmosphere in lessons in which your efforts are valued and in which you develop the confidence to improve your skill and understanding. Every learner is different and, in our work together, I will try to take account of the learning style that you prefer.
I will support your learning in school and we can use a variety of materials and on-line resources.
