I have recently completed a PhD in chemistry at the University of Bath, during which I was exposed to a variety of teaching opportunities including undergraduate laboratory demonstration, running undergraduate tutorial groups and private tuition.

Tutoring Approach

My main aim with tutoring is to help build confidence in the students own ability and understanding. The first step of this process is often getting the student to reflect on what their weaknesses, and where they want to improve, may be in a particular topic and where their strengths lie. This allows for a more targeted approach to sessions to maximise benefit to all.
