I am a recent graduate currently working in the Aerospace sector in the UK, and I am excited to tutor students in Mathematics and Physics at the GCSE level and below. With prior tutoring experience and having personally navigated the new GCSE 9-1 curriculum, I have developed effective revision strategies and tips that I am eager to share. Additionally, I can provide valuable insights into pursuing Engineering or any STEM degree at university, offering guidance on preparation and career pathways.
I took Maths, Physics, and Economics at A-Levels, achieving all A's. I then pursued Aeronautical Engineering at the University of Glasgow, where I graduated with a First Class Honours degree and was recognized as the top student in my class. I am now working in the Aerospace sector.
I personally prefer when the student comes to me with issues with a certain topic they are having. This is because it allows me to then figure out what the problem is with their understanding and how to fix it as it would be much harder for me to teach an entirely new topic online. I personally believe that tuition should not be a place to learn new content but rather build on already talked upon concepts within the classroom.
I have an IPad and so classes will be done via zoom or skype and I will be screen sharing problems or the student will send me problems they are stuck on and having the student complete it whilst also asking them to explain what they have done and why they have done it to make sure they are not memorising answers but rather thinking about the problem.
