Is self-studying too boring?
Find a studying company that not only engages you, but also boosts your performance and enhances your studying methodology!
Hello! I am Hina, a second-year International Relations at Queen Mary University of London. You may not expect it, but teaching science subjects is my hobby, and personalising teaching approaches is my expertise. The combination of great interpersonal and communication skills as an International Relations student is incorporated into my teachings. You will find our lesson enjoyable with great explanations of complex problems.
With 4 years of tutoring experience, I am confident in my approaches to different students and learning styles. My tutoring journey began from the motivation of my friends’ compliments towards my teaching ability. I was often praised for my explanation skills in science subjects, especially in breaking complex concepts down and identifying the reason behind the problems learners face. Throughout the years of tutoring, I then found myself with great development of interpersonal skills.
I have taught students from a range of different ages, from 6 to 15 years old. Students of each age group require different styles of teaching, as younger students prefer a fun and uplifting style of lessons, and older students approaching important exams prefer a more attentive attitude. Due to my flexibility and passion for teaching others, my efforts have empowered my students to achieve their academic goals.
I believe that tutoring is not merely transferring information, but also having a compatible company that allows you to enjoy your studying more, and make all the hardships easier to overcome.
My methodology revolves around identifying students’ weakest topics and working with them bottom-up. This provides a balance in the knowledge they adopt and reduces the chances of missing out on any key topics.
Central to this methodology is regular personalised tests that allow me to keep track of student’s progress and what areas require more attention. I strongly focus on learners’ learning methods, and not just my tutoring approach, as this means they will have effective self-study sessions and increase their learning speed and efficiency. Some of them are mind maps, regular breaks and reductionism – looking at concepts by breaking them down first. This empowers students to become independent learners with the ability to keep themselves on track with their progress.
I am committed to assisting students in achieving their targeted grades with my tutoring approach that values efficiency, progress and organisation.
