I am a passionate historian and educator who has lived and taught in many places around the UK, the Middle East and China. I have been a head of department and head of teacher training at large international schools. I am currently based in the UK, teaching online as a leader of learning to students based in the Middle East.

Tutoring Experience

I have been teaching humanities subjects, especially History, for more than 25 years, covering all of the exam boards in GCSE, IGCSE and A Level, I have been a GCSE examiner for AQA. I have a strong track record of achieving fantastic results for my students, including the highest IGCSE grade in the Middle East and the best A Level grade in China two years ago.

Tutoring Approach

I begin by getting to know the student and their capabilities well and tailor my lessons to their needs very closely. I have a cheerful, welcoming style that conveys my passion for what I teach and inspires my students to perform above their expectations and develop a lifelong interest in history.

In addition to my very extensive historical knowledge, i bring with me a deep understanding of the exam boards, how they operate and what they want to see in exam answers. I will ensure that my tutees are expertly coached in how to impress examiners and meet all the criteria needed to achieve excellent results.
