I currently work as a Radio Test Engineer checking new prototype products for radio spectrum emissions and if they are legally compliant before going onto the market. I have worked in offshore geophysics and numerous university/company R&D roles and have become competent in a number of different areas.

Tutoring Experience

I have done tutoring for the last 20 years since graduating in Physics for both British and Asian students. I have spent 2 years in China working as a researcher and currently helping Chinese students with their academic work in Hull University in an advisor context. I set up an international summer school between the University of Xiamen and Southampton in 2010. I am a recipient of the prestigious Marie Curie Fellowship and worked at ENS in Paris for 2 years.

Tutoring Approach

I prefer to spend a non-chargeable 30 minutes chatting with the potential student/parent to identify the areas of weakness and how we can develop knowledge /exam technique with recent past papers. Physics isn't just about passing exams but is way of thinking about how to approach difficult problems and seek out useful solutions in a structured way.
