I am a qualified teacher of Physics, teaching A level Physics at a local Independent Grammar School. I am passionate about my subject which is why I only tutor Physics even though I have experience teaching all three subjects at GCSE. This is where my real strengths lie and I am best able to support. I enjoy working with students to help them make the next step in their learning journey, whatever that is. Getting that grade 5 at GCSE can be just as important as achieving an A* at A level.
I have taught Physics for over 30 years in a range of contexts from large secondary schools to small Independent grammar schools. I have been Head of Science in 3 schools in which I have worked and have been tutoring over the last 3 years. I have experience in teaching and tutoring AQA and EdExcel GCSE Physics and combined Science, and AQA, OCR and EdExcel A level Physics.
I believe many students struggle with the subject unnecessarily as they don't have access to bespoke interventions tailored to help them make the next step for them. This is different for every student; some need to spend some time looking at why things work, going beyond the syllabus so that can gain a true understanding; others need short snappy methods that they can learn and then apply to problems in their exams. Whether it is tutoring to run alongside the teaching you receive at school to help you keep up and really understand what is going on in the classroom, or a burst of help to revise and get you up to speed for an exam or test - I can support you with what you need.
