With over 25 years experience, I am a self-motivated, qualified and experienced teacher who graduated in Sociology with Social Policy and Administration. I have also continued to develop my professional qualifications by studying for an M.A. in Criminal Justice and PGCE status.
I am a lively, enthusiastic and highly experienced teacher who has been teaching A Level Sociology for over 20 years . Since 1997 I have held the position of Sociology Course Leader and Advanced Practitioner at a very successful college in the South West of England. To date, my A Level pass rates have remained outstanding. I have developed my professional career by submitting several articles, which have been successfully published in A Level Sociology student magazines, developing on-line teaching websites as well as lecturing and appearing at national A Level student/staff conferences and educational DVDs.
I am extremely committed to student centred methods and has endeavoured to develop such learning materials. I strongly believe every student is an individual and may learn in individualised ways. Such a belief requires a "blended learning" approach to tutoring and allows for all student needs, requirements and ability levels. To date, I am proud to state that all my students from First Tutors achieved the grades they were wishing for and continued to their first choice of university. My hourly fee includes any local travel expenses as well as a wealth of learning resources to be supplied at no extra cost to the tutee.
